Supported by the Home Office Best Bar None is a nationwide scheme which promotes responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises.
The aim of Best Bar None in Torquay is to reduce alcohol-related crime, antisocial behaviour and increase business, through the delivery of education, training and the promotion of best practice, to broaden the appeal of Torquay – more especially the evening and night-time economy.
Manger of Rock Garden David Walsh said “We joined the Best Bar None scheme so that we could show our dedication to operating to a high standard with genuine regard for offering a safe environment for our customers and staff as well as the wider community. We are delighted that we have been accredited and feel it shows a real commitment to the scheme as well as confirming the hard work of the entire Rock Garden team in striving to offer a safe, friendly and welcoming environment.”
Devon & Cornwall Police & Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez presented the plaque adding she was delighted to support the scheme recognising the effort made by establishments in reducing crime and encouraging responsible management of premises.
Responsible owners are recognised by an assessment process with a high profile awards ceremony with category winners and overall winner being held later in the year.
