Torquay Best Bar None nominated for national award
Torquay’s Best Bar None scheme has been nominated for a national award.
Representatives from the town’s nightlife economy will attend a parliamentary reception in The House of Lords on Tuesday 31 January hosted by Lord Redesdale.
Sarah Newton MP, Minister for Vulnerability, Safeguarding and Countering Extremism will address the attendees and join the sponsors in presenting an award.
Judges, Chair Robert Humphreys; Lord Smith of Hindhead; Mark Baird, Head of Alcohol in Society, Diageo; and Sarah Bridge, Leisure Correspondent, Financial Mail on Sunday debated the short-listed submissions concluding it was a tough session.

Neighbouring scheme Exeter are up against Central Beds and Nottingham for Most Innovate Scheme in proving creative ideas and developments make a difference in the local area.
