Torquay’s buffest bouncers strip for charity!
Door staff from across Torquay’s bars and clubs are stripping for charity, releasing ‘The Buff Bouncers’ calendar.
The lads are being photographed on various locations across Torbay including the Rooftop Bar at Mambo and the Palm House at Torre Abbey – wearing nothing but a smile!
The calendars will be on sale soon both online and in the venues, raising funds for forces charity Help for Heroes.
Headline sponsor is Patronus Security, whose staff work at The Green Ginger and London Inn Wetherspoon pubs.
MD Nick Warren said “We have chosen to be headline sponsor as we strongly believe in the cause and think it’s a great, fun idea! We have several ex-military personnel among our staff and to be able to help contribute to ‘Help for Heroes’ in such a way is an honour. Our door teams in Torquay regularly receive outstanding feedback and praise from clients and local police so being able to give them the opportunity to take part in the calendar is our way of saying ‘thank you’ for their outstanding efforts.
“The calendar is a bit of fun and helps to positively promote the role of door supervisors and will hopefully go some way to help dispel any misconceptions about the industry.
“The door staff are very enthusiastic about the calendar and there have been some very willing volunteers that have come forward. They’re preparing themselves for maximum ‘exposure’. There’s a lot of extra gym sessions being booked!”
Ed (pictured) who works at The Green Ginger recently had his calendar shoot at Torre Abbey Gardens.
Ali Marshall, head gardener said “It was a great pleasure to be involved in the Buff Bouncers project and certainly spiced up my working day. Photo shoots at Torre Abbey Gardens are a regular occurrence but usually involve brides and grooms and slightly more clothing. So Rob and his model presented some interesting challenges for the team – not least making sure that the scantily clad Mr March came to no harm around some of our more dangerous plants. As this is my area of expertise I felt obliged to keep a close ‘professional’ eye on the proceedings and I am definitely looking forward to seeing the results.”
There are a limited number of advertising spaces on the calendar, with local businesses being invited to sponsor a month. All enquiries to hello@thebuffbouncers.com.
